Tools and equipment of electronics
Electronics is learned with your hands as well as with diagrams and formulas. This section is about the tools, instruments, and bench equipment used to build, measure, test, repair, and understand electronic circuits.
We will look at what each piece of gear does, how it works, how to use it, what mistakes to avoid, and — where useful — a little of its history.
Workshop tools
- Soldering irons and stations — heat, tip care, soldering technique, and temperature control.
- Desoldering tools — solder wick, pumps, and rework equipment.
